Happy Friday all! We are nearing the end of August - where did summer go?!!- and we are gearing up for back to school. I know most of the US is back already, but we start after Labor Day. It still seems too early for me! This summer has been busy and it's gone by in a blink. I've only been to the pool a few times, we never made it to the beach (for fun rather then work, that is) and we have hardly even had any backyard BBQ's. Seems like such a waste of warm weather, sadly. And as my kids are growing faster than I can stand, I really miss those carefree summer evenings, after dinner family walks, and chasing down the ice cream man. My life has become far too inundated with adulting, and it stinks.

We did manage to have some fun this week though and I'm thankful we grabbed the opportunity when we had it. Little Miss has been begging to ride the ferris wheel since it was erected last spring. I thought it was going to be a permanent fixture on the waterfront, but I saw an instagram post last week that said otherwise - we had only two days left to ride! So, we surprised the kiddos with a trip across the river on the ferry, and a ride on the ferris wheel. It was tons of fun! I'm not one for heights, and, had Little Miss not been so persistent, I probably would never have ridden it. But I'm thrilled that we all went and shared the memory. Pics below are all iPhone.
