Happy Friday friends! We are finally stepping off of the ark here. It's been a very wet and wild week with several days of monsoon-like rain and flooding. Fortunately, we were prepared with sandbags so we avoided any major catastrophes. They actually closed the local school because of rain and flooding, which has never happened before in my 40+ years of living here.

After last Friday's sunrise elopement, followed by a family beach session, I was pretty much toast. The rest of the weekend was a blur of work, puppy care (our dane boy was neutered and had a gastropexy) and not much sleep. Then the monsoon ensued and this week was a washout. I'm really ready for a vacation from life for a bit. I could sleep for about 3 weeks, I think.

Today I'm sharing a few iPhone snaps from my early morning venture (I am not an early bird by any means, but it was pretty awesome to see the sunrise at the beach), along with shots of our puppy boy and then the kids exploring the lake in our back yard.

How was your week?

Wow, that is a lot of water, but I suppose a new fun way to explore the backyard! We have quite the opposite problem in Saudi!

Be careful and stay safe, we've had some devastating weather in the area, good to hear you're prepared with sandbags. Love the pup, looks like a Great Dane black lab. Those sweet feet. I'm surprised the kids didn't slide into the flooded yard.

Hi Melissa, I'm happy to hear that the flood - risk is about to be over ... It must have been nerve wrecking to be on alert! Love your setting sun photos, and I hope you get to rest and slow down, Nina
