Happy Friday all! I know I say this all the time, but I just don't know how the weeks fly by so quickly! Maybe it's because I work all hours of the day and night, and all days of the week, or maybe it's just getting old. I don't know, but the weeks seem to go by in one big blur.
Last weekend, I actually had the weekend off, which was a treat. We didn't do anything special and the weather wasn't great, but it was nice to not have to run all around town. We just enjoyed some family time along with the usual housekeeping, yard-pruning, errand-running, etc., etc. This week brought homeschooling, Girl Scouting, loads of editing, a quick visit with my Dad and Stepmom, storms, a power outage and an unexpected visit from the Fire Department. (No damage or danger for us, it was a follow-up after the power outage, but a bit of excitement nonetheless.) My 5 year old was tickled by their short visit and very sweetly ran after them yelling, "Thank you fireman!" Too cute. :)
I also shot quite a bit for the workshop I'm taking, which is about documenting the journey of motherhood, with Megan Nesom. I shot a Day in the Life series this week, as part of an assignment for the workshop. This was something I had not attempted before. I shot every hour from morning until night. My day actually ended with the power outage, so I didn't get bedtime pics, but did I get one of the girls huddled on the couch by the light of an iPhone at the end of the day. It was a fun project and I have shared the photos for this week's FPJ. If you haven't attempted a DITL for your own family I would encourage you to try it. It is a fun way to tell the story of this time in your life. Any camera will do. Just document your everyday moments for an entire day. I bet you will treasure those images years from now!

P.S. If you have ever shot a DITL series, I'd love to see it! Please add a link in the comments.
