Happy Monday my friends. This long weekend has slipped by pretty quickly. Is tomorrow Tuesday already? While I don't feel like I have accomplished much over the past few days, I feel like I have been quite busy. I don't know where the time goes. To be honest, I haven't picked up my camera much lately. Last week brought another 'bout of cold germs and most of the images I captured were with my iPhone. The cold weather has kind of zapped my inspiration. I'm yearning for balmy days and golden rays. The daffodils and crocus have begun to peek through the soil though,
so I know the warmer days are coming.
In the mean time, I have been playing with indoor natural light. At first I wasn't crazy about the angle of my son's profile in this image. I would normally want to see a little more of his face. But the more I looked at this image, the more I liked it. The little glimpse of his profile, the rim light on his cheek and chin, the lashes poking out and the smirk...all of it together makes me smile. I decided it was a keeper after all.
I'm also participating in a P52 with Kim Young on Shutterbag's Facebook Page.
This week's theme is "steps."

I kinda like the tiny glow of light on the edge of his silhouette too. :)
You have such an eye for lighting! Hope the germs go away and stay away!
I like it! He is such an adorable little guy! I know what you mean about the camera! I need my Mojo back not only with camera time, but homeschool, the house, etc...
The weather has been quite 'cold' here for the past week - temps around 70s. Our average temps are supposed to be in the 90s.
I am loving the image - definitely a keeper!
its definitely a keeper! i also love how it lights up his features just enough and love those lashes!! i like all the negative space too, so all the focus is on his sweet profile.
Gorgeous image of him & I hear you on the week flying past. I feel SO BEHIND already!
I am so glad you kept this photo!! It is wonderful, for all of the reason you wrote about. I am a natural light photographer, and am enchanted when you get the perfect amount. If you ask me, this is one of those times.
It's a perfect little glimpse of his face. I like how the light hits it just right for a peek.
Aww I love it. I am for sure with you on being over with winter. I have zero motivation to pick up my camera as it's always indoors. Blah. The natural light in my house is typically lacking unless it's morning and then I'm just taking pictures of breakfast time. Bring on spring flowers and playtime fun!
