 Hello friends! Happy Friday. I'm thankful the weekend is almost here. How about you? I'm looking forward to a weekend with no soccer games, no travel plans, and no real agenda. I do have a long list of "to-do's" but not having a schedule to adhere to is very appealing.

A Little of This and That

I wanted to create a special holiday card for my photography clients and announce a new referral program I'm setting up for 2013. So, I took my favorite models out in the back yard to create a little magic. While this isn't the image, or the editing I chose for that holiday card, it is one that I love from our little session. Rather than let it fade away in my hard drive archives, I thought I'd share it here on the blog today.  I kind of like the timeless black and white. What do you think?

You may have noticed a few changes around here. I decided it was time for some new paint. My awesomely talented friend, Sarah Halstead helped me spruce things up with a new header and blog button too. Go 'head, grab one. They're free ;)

Project 366 Rewind - Week 47

Whew! This past week has been a blur of eating, shopping, traveling, decorating and well, laundry. We had a great Thanksgiving at home and then headed to NC to visit my in-laws. We had another yummy turkey dinner there and stayed the weekend. The boys went to the Tarheel football game and the girls went shopping. We returned home Sunday and then put up our holiday decorations. It was a crazy fun week. Here's my recap in photos:

We took the kids on a little field trip to the MacArthur museum in Norfolk. They have recently expanded and have an impressive display of war era artifacts and memorabilia. General MacArthur and his wife are also buried here.

The kids had a blast playing the the piles of leaves in our yard.

I took advantage of all those leaves and took the girls out to the back yard for a photo shoot. I plan on using some of the images on my business holiday cards.

We had Thanksgiving dinner at my little sister's house again this year. It was delicious! My dad and step-mom were there, along with both of my sisters and their families. We enjoyed great food and our annual touch football turkey bowl!

Friday we headed to North Carolina to visit the hubster's family.

Saturday the boys went to the Carolina game all decked out in blue, of course.

Sunday after driving home we put up our tree. It was Little Miss's first time topping it with the star.

So it was a busy week filled with fun family memories. I hope you had a great week too! I have been off-line for a few days with travel and slow internet service, so I can't wait to catch up on what you've been up to! Thanks for visiting!!

Greetings friends and Happy Thanksgiving! Today, like most of you, I'm reflecting on all the many blessings I have and spending time with family. I am so grateful for a healthy family, a loving supportive, husband and the many friends who encourage and inspire me. Including you!

Project 366 Rewind - Week 46

Hello friends! Can you believe we're into Thanksgiving week? I don't know where this year has gone! It seem like just a few weeks ago I was posting my blank January calendar image for the "clean slate" Project 366 prompt.  Here we are headed into the last month of the year already with Christmas just around the corner. I haven't even begun shopping. Have you?

Here's my peek at last week.

Caught this girl mid-sentence. Those eyes, cheeks, curls! They always get me. I'm so thankful to have her in my life. What a light she is!

I took my girls out for a fall mini session. You can see more of those photos here and here.

My big girl and I went to the salon, just the two of us. A rare occasion. We both opted for shorter hair. I love the way hers turned out.

I worked on this little cutie's session.  That sweet face is priceless!

I have been slacking on the lifestyle photos lately. I did capture Mr. Man sleeping. Love, love, love to watch my babies sweetly dreaming.

 And Saturday we headed up to Williamsburg to take our annual family photos. We got stuck in traffic for 2 1/2 hours on the way. By the time we got there, the sky had gotten gray and dark, everyone was cranky and starving, and it was freezing out. Not exactly a recipe for great family photos! The scenery was pretty though.

And I took more than a couple photos of all the glorious fall color that was at its peak last week and is now waning. Cold gray winter here we come. Wah.

Happy Friday friends! I hope you are enjoying a lovely fall day and looking forward to a relaxing weekend. What do  you have on tap for this weekend?

I'll be prepping for Thanksgiving dinner, attending a final soccer game for the little man, and taking our family holiday photos, which is usually a bit of an aggravation, but also means a trip to Colonial Williamsburg - yay! Ginger cakes and cider for me ;)

Awesome Autumn

The fall color has really popped here in the past week or two. We had some lovely warm days over the weekend and I embraced that glorious weather and headed out with my girls for a mini-shoot.  

We just ventured 5 minutes up the road to a local church with some lovely leaves next to the parking lot. My girls indulged me for about 15 minutes and I was able to capture some fun shots that take full advantage of autumn's splendor. Today I'm sharing a few of those images. I love that golden fall color! How about you?
