The Photo of the Week

Happy Friday friends! It's hard to believe we've almost hit the 4th of July. Summer seems to be passing in a blur. In just a couple of week's I'll be 39 too. Yikes!!!  I'm just going to ignore that fact and hope it goes away. Yep. That's my plan.

Anyway, on to my favorite photo of the week. I love the way this turned out. It reminds me of the nursery rhyme: There was a little girl, who had a little curl...

Show and Tell at Paper Heart Camera

In case you missed the news, there are some exciting things going on over at Paper Heart Camera. I have long enjoyed the blog for it's super content: tips, tutorials, and fun photo challenges. Lately though, the entire site has been revamped and there are several new contributors, including yours truly. I am honored to have been asked to join the talented photogs that write for the blog, and I hope you'll pop over to check out what's new or take a peek at my inaugural post.

A regular feature on the site is Show and Tell. It's a themed picture link up you can join in each week. All you need to do to participate is take a photo that includes the weekly prompt and put it in a post with the Paper Heart Camera button. Link up and blog hop to check out other entries. It's fun and inspiring and you don't need to be a pro or have a fancy camera to join the party! This week's prompt is yellow- self-portrait. I'm a bit behind in posting my entry, but it has been a crazy busy week.

Fresh Summer Flowers

Good day my friends!  I'm afraid I don't have much exciting in store for you today. Just a few summer flowers to bring you a little cheer. We finally got around to sprucing up the flower beds and boxes a bit last weekend, and these are a few of my new favorites.

Project 366 Rewind - Week

Hello friendly people. Happy Monday!  I hope your week is off to a good start. It's sure gonna be a hot one here!

Here's my rewind from last week. 

I spent a lot of time editing pics from my engagement shoot. Love this sweet couple!

We hit the beach for a brief visit to stick our toes in the sand while Daddy negotiated for his new (used) car. Considering how close we are to the beach, we don't go nearly often enough. I used to spend every weekend in the sand before having kiddos. But, it's not as easy when you have to pack up half the house to spend the day there. 

I snapped a few selfies. Still hate photos of myself but I'm trying to get more comfortable with them. It helps a lot to hide behind the camera, ha ha.

I replanted our window boxes and planters. They were looking pretty scraggly, 

but now look fresh and colorful.

Took a few shots of this little lady too. 

My younger sister's engagement party was last weekend and I spent some time with these crazy kids - My stepdad, mom, niece, and two sisters <3

We also had a little going away party for my 7 year olds' best friends. They live just a few houses down, but sadly, are moving away to Texas. These cuties have been besties for the past 4 years.

Sunday's Scavenger Hunt - June 24th

Hello friends,

I hope you have enjoyed a relaxing weekend. As usual ours was busy and I'm just getting to my Scavenger Hunt images tonight. But, I missed out on last week's hunt and I wanted to squeeze this in before I head off to bed. Tomorrow promises to be another busy start to a full week of appointments and errands and fixing a clogged kitchen sink. I'm tired just thinking about it! How about you? What do you have planned for the week?

Warped - judging by these boards I'd say it's time for a new deck!:

Concentric Circles - compact discs seem to be going the way of 8 track tapes.

Friday's Favorite Photo

Well here it is, 8:30 in the evening and I have no idea where the day has gone. We did buy a new car (old new car for the hubs - with AC woo hoo!) and took a short stop on the bay to put our toes in the sand. But, the rest of the day was a blur and I feel like I accomplished little. I had two shoots planned for today and both were postponed. I still have a million emails to catch up on, studying, editing and the house is not clean. Where does the time go? 

I think it gets sucked into a giant vacuum and the only thing on the other side is old age. Anyway, I'm off to start shuffling kiddos to bed, but I leave you with this image. Even though I'm feeling a bit defeated and useless today, this photo is making me happy. I hope it makes you happy too ;)
