This was taken in the shade on a sunny afternoon around 4 PM. I was hoping to catch him mid-flight but he wasn't cooperating and I would have had to change my ss for sure.
Shot with my D5000 and 50 mm f/1.4 lens.

I love the clarity of the petals and the perspective. I think your white balance is off a tad, though.

I love this one! My only suggestion would be to bump up the saturation of the flower. I feel like it is overpowering the beautiful flower. I love your cropping choice on this one.
