My simple thing for today is being thankful for daughters who are sweet and girly. I know the day is coming when she'll spend a lot more time with her friends than she will with me. But, I hope we will always maintain a close bond and that she will still want to do our nails together, to help me bake and go with me on shopping errands. And that she'll feel comfortable enough to confide in me and lean on me when she needs to.

In my daughter's case, there was a natural need for her to pull away a little bit during the HS years, but by Senior year she was back and ever since then, we've had the wonderful relationship we share now. I hope you have the same thing with your beautiful little girl!
