Thursday's Shots - Cotton Field

Thursday, October 13, 2011

Happy Thursday all! My goodness it has been a busy day of playing catch up. Today was the only day this week that we didn't have to run around to various daytime activities.  I had a mountain of laundry and lots of dust bunnies to tackle after several days of running here and there. Due to rain, soccer this evening was cancelled, so I'm finally getting a post up!

When we were heading home from our Girl Scout meeting the other day, I stopped by the side of the road to shoot these. I have passed the cotton fields several times on our way too and from this new homeschool GS troop my 6 year old has joined. I have been wanting to capture a few shots, but always seem to be in too much of a hurry. It was drizzling a little, but on our way home Tuesday I managed to capture a few pics of this cool old barn. I love the way it is weathered and overgrown with vines. It just has so much character!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Be sure to visit the talented ladies who host these hops:

I so LOVE that you stopped and did it! I say that I'm going to do that all the time, here, but never do.

Gorgeous captures!

What a fantastic old barn! I love the way it's covered in vines and the rusty roof. Your photos are wonderful!

That's beautiful, and until I moved here, I wouldn't have even known that was cotton. It's so weird to me to see cotton and tobacco as the primary crops!

Beautiful shots!! Guess that barn isn't used much, with all the overgrowth and being surrounded by cotton, but it sure makes a wonderful photo.
