Here's a little secret: I don't. In fact, most of my life I have loathed math. But, as a homeschooling mom, I recognize my prejudice against numbers and realize that it is important that I DO NOT pass that on to my kids. Consequently, I am always looking for fun and interesting ways to incorporate math into our daily lives and lessons; without making it a chore (for me or for them).
Spotlight on: The Math Mom. Now, this chick has some great ideas that actually make math fun...I'm not kidding. Check out the Card Tricks, and the Guess Your Age Trick...Now who doesn't think that's cool?
Visit TheMathMom.com for more fun with numbers. Who knows, you just might learn to love math...a little ;)
awesome post, mathmom, handsome!
I have gotten a math problem for you, want to try out?
Happy Friday!
Cheers,

How wonderful thanks for the links! I have 3 kids I'm homeschooling right now and yes you tend to dread those subjects you hated as a child.. But I've also learned that thru me finding ways to teach it I learn a little too and get more comfortable with it. I have a 5th grader that absolutely dislikes math I'm gonna check 'em out.
Thanks for visiting me today! I also hated math...and wanted my kids to embrace it! I am having fun teaching it to my 7 year old! ;) He has some vision challenges so we have to be creative so he can see problems on pages.... and we are selective with our materials also! Glad to meet a home schooling mom with a 7 year old!! ( what does ds and dd stand for... dear son? dear daughter? I am not that hip yet! lol) Jenn
good luck

love to have fun with math makes it so much fun for learning
Math and I go way back. We're not friendly. In fact, Math is way superior in it's thoughts than I. Intimidating I would say. :)
I'm not a math fan by any means. lol
Well, being that I can't even get my 2nd graders math homework correct, I need all the help I can get!
