My son the bird whisperer...
My oldest has always been a big animal lover. Starting around 3 years old he begged to watch Animal Planet, rather than cartoons. Has always love visiting zoos, aquariums, museums...anywhere animal related. He can often be spotted in a tree or crawling on the ground to get a better look at an animal in or near our yard. We put a birdhouse right outside his bedroom window so he could watch them easily, and have often joked that he will be the next Steve Erwin.
So, when he called to me the other day to show me his bird on a branch, I didn't flinch. Had it been his brother or sister, I would have been shocked at the sight. But since it was Aiden walking across the street with a wild blackbird (I believe it was a young shiny cowbird) on a stick, I simply ran for my camera so that I could capture the moment (and then blog about it, of course!)

Happy WW!!
Wow, that's amazing!

How cool is that!!!
Happy WW, Melissa!
Very cool! My son is the exact same way! We watch so much Animal Planet and read about animals all the time.
Wow now that's pretty cool!
Maybe next time he can work in a zoo, training animals for performance? :D
I'm gonna be honest, I have never seen such a thing. Your son must be the Animal Whisperer or something!!! Or he's Dr. Doolittle in the making! ;-)
now that is really great! I've always been an animal lover myself hehe and always try and pass some time in nature :)
He sounds a lot like me when I was a child. Now I have a house full of pet children, we are adopting more soon, several large fish tanks, and I work with animal advocacy groups. I bet he will be the same way, if not a vet. I am so surprised to see the bird there like that. He has a gift.
Happy WW from Sara @ The Mostly Wordless Wednesday H.Q.!
Wow! That is amazing...he truly has a gift with animals!
Wow he got so close to him. Love the photo
I can't believe he got that close without the bird flying away.
Wow he is the bird whisper.
Wow, now that is sweet. I wonder if that bird was stunned from something...not flinching and all. That's amazing.
So cute! Love the pics - happy WW!
My grandson (age 3) would have loved that! He keeps insisting that we try to catch this lone wild turkey who keeps roaming our property. Like there is a chance he wants to be caught! So glad you got shots of this!
That is amazing! He may have an Animal Channel gig in his future!
Blessings!
That's amazing! The bird wasn't afraid at all.
That's amazing. How the heck did he do that?
