Recent Resource Finds That I Love

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

Ok, truth be told, I publish these as much for my own resource as for yours. Putting them in a blog post allows me an easy reference for materials I want to use in homeschooling, but don't have time to delve into at the moment. I refer back to these posts with my kids as we research projects and subjects on our agenda. I have a zillion bookmarked pages and grouping a category of links in a blog post makes it easy for me to find them when I need them. So, I guess these posts are self-serving, but I hope some of you will find them useful as well.

Anyway, today I'm throwing out some recent finds that I have enjoyed and don't want to forget about. Sometimes I'll put these up as my "Random Tips of the Day" in the sidebar, but at the end of the day they get erased so I'm posting them here :)

Here's a great resource for bird enthusiasts complete with free homeschool lessons!

This site offers a free trial and has hundreds of online books to read. You can also create and publish your own books. Too cool!

Into lapbooking? Scrapbooking? Unit Studies? This educational site combines them all. I'm thinking their kits would make great gifts from the grandparents :D

I'm not big on worksheets and testing, but if you use them regularly you'll want to visit this free to join site where you can create and customize your own.

Looking for green goods but don't want to break the bank? I like this eco-store with loads of products.

If you are interested in learning or teaching American Sign Language, aslaccess.org has some wonderful resources.

Plus, check out Homeschool.com's list of 101 Things To Do This Summer. Wow.

That's all for now. I'll be adding more later. My hubby buzzer is going off. Time to sign off ;)

Thanks for sharing! As a homeschool mom I am always looking for stuff. I need to put my link back up on my blog -- so I can start putting thing together for next year.

Have you checked out iTunes University?

They have free lectures and fun stuff for learning. My kids love it.
